Kursaal Ostend: The future of business events in 2027

Kursaal Ostend has embarked on an ambitious transformation process that will definitively bring this iconic location on the Belgian coast into the 21st century. With the reopening of the concert hall in January 2027, the Kursaal is not only focusing on architectural renewal, but also on a completely new positioning. Under the baseline “The Power of Live”, an identity is being launched that revolves around a pure, uninterrupted connection between stage and audience, a vision that is already visible on the revamped website and in the refreshed branding.

The physical transformation of the concert hall is a technological feat that focuses on the needs of modern business events, among other things. Thanks to an investment of 25 million euros, the infrastructure has been fully optimised for maximum flexibility. A crucial element is the new, advanced lift system that allows the hall configuration to be adjusted in no time. This allows the space to be transformed from a classic seated auditorium into a multifunctional flat floor covering no less than 1700 m². For organisers of conferences, large-scale product presentations and trade fairs, this means unprecedented freedom in terms of layout, with a total capacity of over 3000 people.

In addition to technical modernisation, the Kursaal is introducing an innovative audience experience. In a world full of digital distractions, the venue has chosen to focus on the essentials by offering visitors the opportunity to safely store their smartphones during events. This focus on “deep engagement” significantly increases the impact of every presentation or performance. While the main hall is being prepared for the first productions of 2027, the Lounge with its panoramic view of the North Sea will remain operational for high-quality receptions and networking events.

With this combination of a strong new identity and state-of-the-art infrastructure, Kursaal Oostende is strengthening its role as a multifunctional event location.
